Verasamy earned her degree at the University of London and trained as a meteorologist at The Press Association's Weather Centre (later renamed Meteogroup, Europe's largest private Weather Company) - writing weather forecasts for television, radio and newspapers. She later joined Sky News and was a regular meteorologist on Sky News' Sunrise morning show. As part of their Green Britain campaign 2007, Sky News launched a feature named Climate Clinic - Ask Lucy. Verasamy was frequently asked questions by viewers about climate change. She was a part of Daybreak's recently established ITV Breakfast program Daybreak as an environmental and weather correspondent. [5] On 7 February 2012, McCabe left the programme, leaving Verasamy as the sole weather forecaster. She also quit the program on 2 August 2012.
