Simu Liu

  Liu was born in Harbin (China) on 19 April 1989. Liu is the son of Zhenning Liu and Zheng Liu. The parents of Zheng and Zhenning were able to get into Beijing University, despite considerable opposition to pursue engineering. Zhenning his father was a student in America to pursue his PhD and his mother was employed in Beijing. Liu was raised in Harbin by his grandparents up to age five. He described his childhood as idyllic and joyful. His parents later emigrated to Canada together with him. They increased their scholarship by working as dishwashers , and were accomplished aerospace engineers. Liu was born in Mississauga.
