In 1926, she emigrated to the United States. The novel she wrote in 1943, The Fountainhead, was her first major success. She also wrote two Broadway plays as well as a failed novel. Rand's most well-known work, Atlas Shrugged, was released in the year 1957. Rand published her most well-known novel Atlas Shrugged in the year 1957. Rand continued to write non-fiction until she died in 1982. She was a proponent of egoism that was ethical and rational and opposed the notion of altruism. She was against anarchism, statism , and the concept of collectivism in politics. She favored laissez-faire capitalism which she defined as a system that respects the rights of individuals and private property rights. Rand was against libertarianism, that she believed was anarchism. But, she is frequently identified with the United States with the modern libertarian movement. Rand was a fervent supporter of romantic realism in art. She was the most critical philosopher of all time.
