Lawrence Gene David (born July 2, 1947)is an American comedian, writer, actor, and television producerHe along with Jerry Seinfeld created the television sitcom Seinfeld in which David was the head writer and executive producer for the first seven seasons. David was also recognized for the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which he created and stars in as a fictionalized version himself. He's written or co-written the story of every episode since its pilot episode in 19David's role on Seinfeld won two Primetime Emmy Awards in 1993 in the categories of Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in the field of a Comedy Series. He was a comedian before he entered the world of television comedy, writing and starring in ABC's Fridays, as well as writing for Saturday Night Live. He has been nominated for 27 Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. In an British poll the comedian was ranked 23rd most popular comedian around the globe. He was also awarded the Laurel Award from the Writers Guild of America for TV Writing Achievement in 2010.
