Cris Collinsworth

 Collinsworth was born in Dayton in Ohio. He was the son of Abraham Lincoln "Abe" Collinsworth (who was born on the day Abraham Lincoln was born) and Donetta Browning Collinsworth. Abe, often referred to as "Lincoln", was a high school basketball player for the Kentucky Wildcats and known as the "Fiddling Five", who took home the national championship in 1958. Both of Cris's parents were teachers; Donetta was a teacher as was Abe was a high school teacher and coach who later became a principal and later the director of schools for Brevard County.His family, which included Cris and his brother Greg relocated from Ohio to Melbourne, Florida, in 1963, when Cris was just four years old. old.They relocated to nearby Titusville in 1972 in which Cris's brother and he went to Astronaut High School, while their father was the principal. Cris was a success in several sports for the Astronaut War Eagles, and during his senior year in 1976, he took home the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A 100-yard-dash state championship and was named a high school All-American quarterback.
