Catherine Bell (actress)

Bell was one of the main actors in Men of War, a 1994 Dolph Lundgren film. Bell as well as Trevor Goddard became close friends as they shot the film in Thailand. Goddard would portray Bell's intermittent love interest Mic Brumby in JAG following the year. Goddard passed away in June of 2003, after a drug overdose. Bell, who was in mourning, described the experience as "horrible". In 1995, she landed an appearance in a three-line episode of the NBC television series JAG which focuses on the work of the United States Department of Navy's Judge Advocate General Office. NBC cancelled the show following which it was taken over by CBS who restructured the series, incorporating a female Marine Corps lawyer character, Sarah MacKenzie. Bell was a candidate for the part and was able to win the job. The pilot episode was the first to feature Bell talking Persian. Bell was in the role until the year 2005, when the show was cancelled. Since 2007, Bell played the role of a character on Lifetime's drama series Army Wives as Denise Sherwood as the wife of a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and victim of domestic violence from her teenage son during the series' first season. Bell played the role of Cassandra "Cassie" Nightingale, the main character of the Hallmark Channel's The Good Witch (2008) and the sequels The Good Witch's Garden (2009), The Good Witch's Gift (2010), The Good Witch's Family (2011), The Good Witch's Charm (2012), The Good Witch's Destiny (2013), and The Good Witch's Wonder (2014). Bell was also co-executive producer for all the movies. She also starred in Last Man Standing (2011) in Lifetime.
