 American actress Zoe Yadira Saldana Perego (nee Saldana Nazario; June 19, 1978) She has been in three of the top five highest-grossing films ever (Avatar, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame), a feat not achieved by any other performer. [2] Her films have grossed more than $11 billion worldwide,[3] and she is the second-highest-grossing film actress of all time as of 2019.A trained dancer, Saldana began her acting career in two 1999 episodes of Law & Order. Her first film role came in Center Stage (2000) in which she played the role of a ballet dancer. After receiving recognition early for her role opposite Britney Spears in the road film Crossroads (2002), Saldana achieved her career breakthrough by her involvement in a variety of sci-fi film franchises, beginning in 2009 when she was cast in the roles of Nyota Uhura in the Star Trek film series and Neytiri in the Avatar film series. She then portrayed Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). Outside of her work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Saldana has starred in the Netflix romantic drama miniseries From Scratch (2022).
