Nate Diaz

 Diaz was an opponent in The Ultimate Fighter 5, which exclusively featured lightweights, competing on Jens Pulver's team. Diaz defeated Rob Emerson in the preliminary round by submission. In the quarterfinals, Corey Hill defeated Diaz by submitting a triangle choke. In the semifinals, Diaz defeated Team Penn participant Gray Maynard by submission, advancing to the finals, in which he faced Teammate Manvel Gamburyan. When Gamburyan attempted a takedown, Diaz was dislocated his right shoulder and was forced to submit to beat him. With the victory, Diaz won The Ultimate Fighter
