Murdock was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to J.E. Murdock and Willie Murdock. He has four sisters. In 1964, Murdock graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles. [1] He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, but quit after three years in 1966. The association purchased the International Faith Center in Haltom City (Texas) in August 2004 and then changed its name from The Wisdom Center to The Wisdom Center. The 25-room, 9943-square-foot property on 6.89 acres was listed on Realtor.com for $3.2 million. It was then relisted at $2.7 million on September 4, 2013.
