 Jennifer Shrader Lawrence (born August 15 in 1990) is an American actor from America. The world's highest-paid actress in 2016 and 2015, her movies have grossed over six billion dollars worldwide. Lawrence was one of the top 100 influential people around the world in 2013 according to Time. Lawrence was also featured on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List from 2013 to 2016. Lawrence also performed in church musicals and school plays throughout her childhood. At the age of 14 she was discovered by a talent scout holidaying in New York City with her family. Then she moved to Los Angeles and began her acting career by appearing in guest roles on television. Her first major role was as a main character in the sitcom The Bill Engvall Show (2007-2009). Her film debut was as an actor in the action drama Garden Party (2008). Her acting debut in Winter's Bone (2010), as a poor teen. Lawrence's career progressed with prominent roles in films such as Mystique in the X-Men film series (2011-2019) and Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series (2012-2015). Lawrence was the highest-grossing female action hero of all time, and she received many accolades for her three filmmaking collaborations with David O. Russell. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress (2012) for her role as a young widower with issues in Silver Linings Playbook (2012). This made her the second-youngest recipient in this category, at 22 . In her performance as a feisty wife in American Hustle (2013), she received the BAFTA Award in Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Lawrence was also given the Golden Globe Award for these films as well as her performance as Joy Mangano as the businesswoman in Joy (2015). After a series of mixed reviews and media criticism regarding her character, Lawrence took a short time off from acting. She came back with the streaming films Don't Look Up (2021) and Causeway (2022).
