Ashanti (singer)

 Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas (born on the 13th of October, 1980), is an American musician, singer, record producer, model and actress. In her teens she was discovered and signed to Murder Inc. Records. [4] She was also included on Fat Joe's "What’s Luv?" in 2002. as well as Ja Rule's "Always on Time" The two songs were two of the biggest hit songs of 2002. The song is referred to as the Princess of Hip-Hop. The first female artist who held the top two places on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with "Foolish" and "What's Luv?" Ashanti ranked at second and number one respectively in 2002. Her debut album, "Foolish", reached the top of the charts of the Billboard Hot 100. The album sold more than 505,000 copies in the United States within its first week. The album was a huge success and earned her numerous accolades which included eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and two American Music Awards, and a Grammy Award in 2003 for the best Contemporary R&B Album. The album has since been certified triple platinum in the United States and sold six million copies across the globe by the end of 2003.The leading single from the album, "Foolish", was an instant commercial and critical hit and reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Ashanti became the first artist to simultaneously possess three Billboard Hot 100 chart entries with "Foolish". Ashanti wrote and sang for Jennifer Lopez's "Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)" and it also reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
