Randle was selected with the seventh pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. On the 28th of October, 2014, with just 14 minutes of officially NBA playing time, Randle broke his right tibia during the Lakers opening game of the 2014-15 season against the Houston Rockets. The injury was fixed by Randle, who missed all of the season. He was released from surgery on March 9 of 2015. Randle missed the remainder of the season due to his injury.
