Connery played a variety of roles in theatre and subsequently was a part of several B-films. His film debut came in The Lords of Discipline (1983). He appeared in the Doctor Who serial Vengeance on Varos in 1985. He also played Robin Hood in the final season of the TV series Robin of Sherwood in 1986.He then played James Bond creator Ian Fleming in the 1990 drama Spymaker: The Secret Life of Ian Fleming. He played Merlin: The Quest Begins the title character in an action film set in 1997. The film was initially planned to be a pilot episode to an ongoing series. He also appeared in Faithful Dealing (2001), an English-language Whodunit set in London created by Dominic Madden. In 2003, he performed with a stage production of The Blue Room. He was the protagonist of Shoebox Zoo's children's show. In 2004, he returned to the show in September 2005.
