Devin Booker

Booker scored 54 points in the Laurel MLK shootout against Northeast Jones High School. He fell nine short of LitterialGreen's Moss Point record of 62 points in a single game. He also scored 32 points, including a three-pointer in the game against Murrah High School. He was named ESPNHS.com Southeast Player of Week. His father said that Booker was being watched by Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida. In the final game, against Pascagoula High School, Booker was limited to a single-digit score (8) for the second time in the season . Moss Point lost 48-32, setting up an away game against the state champions Wayne County High School in the first round of the South State playoffs. Moss Point was defeated by Wayne County's defense that kept Booker to just one free throw during the first quarter. This resulted in the team winning 57-37 Wayne County. The year was a success for Booker. Booker averaged 22.8 points per game. He was named the South Mississippi Player of the Year by the Sun Herald, becoming just the second sophomore player to be recognized with this honor.In the news release, the newspaper reported that Booker held scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgetown, Michigan and South Alabama.
