Edward Holcroft

 Holcroft is the second of three sons born to Lt. Col. Patrick Holcroft, a soldier, and Kathleen "Annie" Holcroft (nee Roberts) an ex-publisher at Conde Nast. Oliver Holcroft is his elder brother and was a former soldier who was part of the Grenadier Guards during Afghanistan. When he was 8 years old, Edward was sent to boarding schools. He was a student at Summer Fields School, Oxford and then Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire. He initially wanted to become professional drummer, having completed the music academy, but he changed his focus to acting following his appearance in a production at Oxford Brookes University. After graduating from Oxford Brookes University he pursued his studies at the Drama Centre London of Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London.
