Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr. born on 17 January 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. Wade played for the Miami Heat during his 16-year NBA career. He was the winner of three NBA championships and was an thirteen-time NBA All-Star. Wade was also an eight-time participant on the All-NBA team and three-time member of the All-Defensive Team. Wade is Miami's record-breaking leader in points, games and assists. He also holds the record for the most shots taken, shots made and steals. Wade hosts the American version of The Cube. He was picked as the fifth pick in the 2003 NBA draft. The Heat's third season was his best. Wade led the Heat to their first NBA Championship and was named the NBA Finals MVP in 2006. NBA Finals MVP. Wade was the captain of the United States men’s basketball team (also called the "Redeem Team") in scoring during the 2008 Summer Olympics. He helped to win the gold medal. In the 2008-09 season Wade was the league's top scorer in total points (2,386) and points per game (30.2) The latter of which earned him his sole NBA scoring crown. Wade was named NBA All-Star Game MVP for 2010. Wade LeBron James, Wade and Chris Bosh helped Miami reach four consecutive NBA Finals between 2011 and 2014. They also won back-toback championships in 2012, 2013 and 2013. Wade briefly quit Miami to play for the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and 2017 before returning to Miami to finish his playing career, and then retire from the Heat in the year 2019. The Heat removed his number 3 jersey in the year 2020. In 2021, he bought a minority stake of the Utah Jazz. In October 2021 Wade was honored as one of the best league players of all time when he was included on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. Wade is widely considered to be one of the top shooting guards in NBA the history of the sport.
