Cry Macho (film)

 Cry Macho, a 2021 American Neowestern drama film, produced by Clint Eastwood and produced by Nick Schenk. It was written by Nick Schenk (based on Nash’s 1975 novel). Eastwood portrays Eduardo Minett, a rodeo actor who is recruited to bring him back to his father (Dwight Yoakam), in Mexico. In the past, numerous attempts were made to make the novel of Nash into a film. In the year 2011, Arnold Schwarzenegger was brought on as a lead actor, however the film was pulled because of an incident. Eastwood revealed the film's adaptation for 2020. He was the producer together with Tim Moore, Albert S. Ruddy and Jessica Meier. Cry Macho was shot in New Mexico. Ben Davis was the cinematographer. Mark Mancina the composer, Joel Cox and David Cox were editors. Cry Macho was theatrically distributed in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on the 17th of September and 2021. The film was made available through the HBO Max streaming site for 30 days. The film failed on the commercial front, only making $16 million on an estimated budget of $33 million. The film was met with mixed critiques from the critics. The film received mixed reviews from critics, including negative reviews to the screenplay, and favorable reviews for the soundtrack and scenic elements. The performance of Eastwood was criticised.
