Calum Hood

 Calum Thomas Hood (born 25 January 1996) is an Australian musician who is known for being the bassist and the vocalist of the group pop rock 5 Seconds of Summer. 5 Seconds of Summer has sold more than 10,000,000 albums and sold more than two million tickets for concerts worldwide in 2014. The band is considered to be one of the most popular Australian exports of music. His father, David Hood, is a former Coca-Cola employee, while his mother, Joy Hood, worked in the superannuation industry.Through his father, he has claimed Scottish heritage and, through his mother, he claims Cook Island Maori descent. Hood is the older brother of Mali Koa the singer-songwriter. Hood remembers his early years as being "middle-class" and "not the most glamorous lifestyle". "[5]" Hood was a student at Norwest Primary School where he was a friend of future bandmate Michael Clifford in the third grade. For high school, Hood attended Norwest Christian College where he hung out with fellow bandmate Luke Hemmings in Year 7 after they performed the Secondhand Serenade cover at a school talent show. Hood was a fervent fan of sports from the time of his childhood until his teenage years. He visited a Brazil training camp in hopes to pursue a career in soccer. But, following the formation of the group, and the group's move to London in late 2012, he ultimately took the decision to leave football in order to pursue music. Hood later said that he felt that he had made the most difficult choices of his life following leaving football. My mother threw out every item of clothing in my closet. And I left just being as if I had made one of the biggest choices. However, it turned out well." 9] After his decision to stop playing football after which he quit high school in 2012 following the completion of Year
