 Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a daily ranking and daily list of billionaires from around the globe is released by Bloomberg News since March 2012. The index is a weekly list of the 500 wealthiest people around the globe. The ranking is transparent and transparent. It reveals the most wealthy people around the globe. The index began by listing the top 20 individuals in the world. The index was extended to cover 100, 200, and 400 in October of 2016 and then 500 in October of 2016. When it was first introduced in 2012 Carlos Slim, a Mexican telecoms tycoon, was on the top of the list, with the estimated $65.8 million in net worth. From May 2013 Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft was the most powerful billionaire in the world. The two of them, Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO and Amancio Ortega (Spanish fashion retailer) have seen significant growth in their wealth between the years of 2016 and 2017. Both of them were able to challenge Gates to be the number one contender. Bezos was later surpassed by Musk in 2018 and Elon Musk in 2021. Musk is the most wealthy person on Earth however Tesla shares dropped in the month of December 2022. Bernard Arnault became the most wealthy person during this period.
