Bill Cosby

 William Henry Cosby Jr. (/kazbi/KOZ-bee 12 July 1937) was a famous American comedian actor, actor, and television celebrity. He played a major role in contributing to American as well as African American culture, and was given the title "America's Dad" because of his role as Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show (1984-1992). His professional career has seen him be awarded numerous honorary degrees and distinctions. He began his career in San Francisco's infamous i nightclub, where he was a stand-up comic in the 1960s. He released several comedy stand-up albums that brought him the Grammy Award in 1965 and 1970. Cosby was also a character in the crime drama I Spy (1965-1968), alongside Robert Culp. Cosby was the first African American to win an Emmy Award in acting when he was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in 1966 for Outstanding Lead Actor in the field of Drama Series. The actor continued to act by appearing on The Bill Cosby show, that ran from 1969 until 1971.
