Eilleen Regina Twain [11 OC (/aI’li:n/eye-LEEN -- nee Eds, August 28, 1965) Canada's songwriter and singer. She is the highest-selling female country artist in history and is also the most-sold artist of all time. Her popularity earned her many titles and accolades, including "Queen of Country Pop". Twain was born in Timmins, Ontario and began singing at a young age. She signed with Mercury Nashville Records in early 1990s. Her self-titled debut album in 1993 was a failure commercially. After collaborating with producer and husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Twain gained notoriety with her second studio album, The Woman in Me (1995) and led to her widespread success. The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, spawned eight singles, which included "Any Man of Mine" and won her the Grammy Award. The third album, Come on Over (1997), became the most-sold studio album by female artists in any genre and the best-selling country album ever, selling more than 40 million copies across the globe. [11] Twelve singles were produced by Come on Over and include "You’re still the one" From This Moment On, "That Don’t Impress Me Much” as well as "Man!" "I Feel Like a Woman!" Twain was awarded four Grammy Awards. Her fourth studio album, Up! (2002), spawned eight singles, including "I'm Gonna Getcha Good! ", "Ka-Ching!" and "Forever and for Always" and "Forever and For Always," which sold over 20,000,000 copies around the world. The album was also certified Diamond in the United States.
