A long-time American hunter, Mike Wolfe has been seeking out hidden treasure since he was just four years old. He's earned himself a reputation as one of America's best foragers. He travels from coast to coast looking for rusty gold over the many years. While others see shabby barns and overgrown yards, Wolfe recognizes the beauty in long-lost things and the stories of the people who built these objects, then used them and somehow ended up saving them.Wolfe spends all the time possible on the road frequently with Frank Fritz, his friend of 20 years and fellow picker in tow. He states, "A picker is kind of like a wanderer." Wolfe is intrigued by the stories and people that he meets along the way. They're as valuable as the precious treasures he discovers in their barns and attics. He laughs, "Anything that I can make money off of." He really looks for things that have stories. Things that fill in some of America's gaps. Antique Archaeology is his specialty shop, which sells antiques, vintage products, and folk art. The locations are well-known tourist spots located in Le Claire, Iowa, and Nashville, Tennessee. However, after having a family, his full-time passion is to preserve as much of the small-town America as he can. looking for old buildings across the Midwest and the mid-South region that could be restored, reclaimed and reinvigorated, breathing fresh life into the main streets where he grew up.
