George Foreman

 George Edward Foreman (born January 10 1949) is an American former professional boxer, minister, entrepreneur and writer. He was known as "Big George" in boxing and competed between 1967 and 1997. He is an Olympic gold medalist and a two-time champion at heavyweight in the world. As an entrepreneur, he's well-known for his George Foreman Grill Following a turbulent growing up, Foreman took up amateur boxing and took home an Olympic gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Summer Olympics. After turning professional the following year, he won the world heavyweight title with an impressive second-round knockout of then-undefeated Joe Frazier in 1973. After two times defending the title and losing his first professional defeat to Muhammad Ali in 1974's Rumble in The Jungle. Following a loss in 1977 to Jimmy Young, Foreman decided to quit. He then became a certified Christian minister. A decade later the fighter came back and took the unification of the WBA as well as the IBF heavyweight titles. He beat 26-year-old Michael Moorer. Instead of taking on the mandatory title defense, he dropped the WBA title. Then, following only one title defense Axel Schulz on June 28 the 28th of June, 1995 Foreman was also stripped of his IBF title. He was 46 years old and was 169 days old. [6] Foreman is the oldest boxer to ever be crowned the world heavyweight championship, which is a major honour and is also the second-oldest fighter in any weight class after Bernard Hopkins (at light heavyweight). At 48 years old, Foreman retired with a record of 76 victories (68 knockouts and five losses) and was inducted into both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. The International Boxing Research Organization ranks Foreman eighth in the top heavyweights. In 2002, The Ring named him as one of the top 25 fighters of the last 80 years. [8The Ring ranked him as the eighth greatest fighter of all time. The Ring listed him as the ninth greatest puncher of all times. He was an analyst at the ring for HBO's boxing coverage for 12 years until 2004. Outside boxing, he is an entrepreneur who is successful and well-known for his promotion of the George Foreman Grill, which has sold over 100 million units worldwide. The commercial rights to the grill to a corporation worth $138 million in 1999.
