American actress Christina Ricci (/'ri.tSi/ REEchee born on February 12, 1981) Famous for her characters that have a darker edge,[2] Ricci is a major part of independent productions, but has also been seen in a variety of film and television commercials. She has also received nominations for a Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy Awards.Ricci made her debut in film at age nine in Mermaids (1990) in which was followed by a breakthrough role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) as well as its sequel, Addams Family Values (1993). The roles she played in the sequels, Casper as well as Now and Then, both 1995, made her an idol for teenagers. Her career began in adult-oriented roles at 17 with The Ice Storm (1997) that led to her roles in several independent films like Monster (1998), The Opposite of Sex (2000) and Pecker (1998). She was also in Sleepy Hollow (1999), 200 Cigarettes (99), Penelope (2006) and Speed Racer (2008). In addition, Ricci was a part of the finale season of Ally McBeal(2002) and also made a guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy (2006). Also, she was a part of the ABC series Pan Am (2011-12), and also starred in and produced the television series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles (2015) and Z: The Beginning of Everything (2017). In 2021, she started playing in the critically acclaimed Showtime series Yellowjackets in 2022. In the same year, she appeared in the comedy horror show Wednesday.
