Muggsy Bogues

 Bogues was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and lived in the Lafayette Court housing projects. His mother was 4.50m (1.50m) and his father was 5.05m (1.65m). His childhood was difficult for him. He was the oldest of three siblings and brothers. He was just five years old when he was struck by a few buckshots and was admitted to hospital. As a child, he witnessed an individual being beaten to death by bats from a baseball, a sight that haunted him into adulthood.When Bogues was 12 years old and his father was sentenced to twenty years in prison for an armed burglary. At the same as that the brother Chuckie started using hard drugs.In addition to basketball, Bogues was a standout wrestler and baseball player growing to. He was a child who played basketball in the courts. The nickname he was given was "Muggsy", after a diminutive character from The Bowery Boys. Bogues was a student at Southern High School in Baltimore and began playing basketball at the school. Bogues was interested in becoming a dentist, which is why he enrolled at Dunbar High School in Baltimore. He was later coached by Bob Wade who is now the head coach of the University of Maryland. coach. He was a teammate of future NBA players David Wingate, Reggie Williams and Reggie Lewis (the latter two of whom were in his graduating class). The Dunbar Poets finished the 1981-82 season 29-0 during Bogues's junior season and went on to finish 31-0 during his senior year in 1982-83. They also were ranked the highest in the nation by USA Today.Bogues received scholarships to play college basketball at several schools, such as Virginia, Penn State and Seton Hall
