Muggsy Bogues

  The Hornets changed from being average to being serious contenders during his time during his time in Charlotte. Bogues led the team three times to the playoffs. Bogues as well as the Hornets were extremely popular throughout this time. Bogues was among the top ten in the league for assists over six seasons, between 1989 and 1995. He was the only player to fall below fourth. Bogues had the league's highest assist-to-turnover ratio between 1992 and 1993. Bogues had a stellar season in 1993-94, where Bogues averaged a double-double and was second in assists per game. He established a new record for his career by scoring 10.8 points per game in 1994-95. After six seasons of growing scoring averages, the player had to undergo arthroscopic surgery in the month of August. Following a string of injuries and setbacks the player was put on the injured list at least three times throughout the season 1995-96. Bogues was able to complete the season with only 14 points in just six games. Bogues returned to action in the following season, but he was absent for 17 games. The production of his team had decreased a bit.
