Margrethe Schanne

 She was appointed solo dancer in 1943. She then continued to dance in the Bournoville's Edouard in 1945.The performance was pivotal for the rest of her career. She was allowed to "unfold her entire unusual perception of the romantic female figure" according to Anne Middelboe Christensen in Schanne's entry in KVINFO. Schanne travelled to Paris, where she stayed from 1946 until 1947. There she trained with the Russian educator Olga Preobrajensk Schanne was a guest of the Ballet des Champs-Elysees run by Roland Petit in Paris and London 1947. There, she improved her classical dance style and dramatic characterisation. Between 1945 between 1945 and 1966, Schane was the lead actress in the stage play La Sylphide. Since 1951 she danced her second important Romanic part in Giselle. From 1955 onwards, Schane was a Night Shadow dancer in George Balanchine's production and performed the lead role in Pas de Quatre of Anton Dolin.
