Lawrence Gene David, born July 2nd, 1947 is a famous American comedian, writer and actor. Seinfeld as well as David created the sitcom Seinfeld. David was the head writer and executive producer for the initial seven seasons. The show was further recognized through the HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm. He invented it and plays the lead role in the fictionalized version of himself. Since the first episode in 1999, David has co-written or created the story for each episode. In 1993, he was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Individual Achievements in Writing for Comedy Series. The comedian was also a comic prior to when becoming a television comedian. He was a writer and actor on ABC's Fridays, and occasionally created a script for Saturday Night Live. He's been nominated for 27 Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. In an British survey in 2010, he was voted as the 23rd best comedian of all time. He was also awarded the Laurel Award of TV Writing Achievement from the Writers Guild of America in 2010. In 2015, he's been a frequent appearance on Saturday Night Live where he is the character of the 2016 and 2020 U.S. presidential candidates.
