LaMelo Ball

 LaMelo LaFrance (born on 22nd August, 2001) LaMelo LaFrance (born August 22, 2001) is an American professional basketball player who plays with the Charlotte Hornets (NBA). The Hornets picked him as the third selection overall during the 2020 NBA draft. Ball was named the NBA Rookie-of-the-Year for 2021 and was named as an NBA All-Star in 2022. He was a student at Chino Hills High School located in Chino Hills, California. He was a state champion and was a national star in his freshman year along with his brothers Lonzo, and LiAngelo. Following his junior year an argument with his coach prompted him to join Prienai, the Lithuanian professional team Prienai. He was a part of the Junior Basketball Association in 2018 that was founded by his father. Following that the team was formed, he reenrolled in high school and was an senior at SPIRE Academy in Geneva. Ball was a five-star player who committed to UCLA. However his eligibility issues caused him to join the Illawarra Hawks in the National Basketball League (NBL). Ball saw a rapid climb there. Ball was ridiculed by scouts prior to his rise they believed that he would be a second-round selection and not make it to the NBA. The success of his career allowed him to be selected third by the Charlotte Hornets for the 2020 NBA draft. Ball was named the NBA rookie of the year after the 2020-21 NBA season.
