John Stith Pemberton

 John Stith Pemberton (July 8, 1831 until August 16, 1888) was an American pharmacist and Confederate States Army veteran who is best known as the inventor of Coca-Cola. He created an earlier version of the beverage that would become Coca-Cola on May 18, 1886. However, he was able to sell his rights to the drink soon prior to his death. His efforts to control the pain he suffered resulted in morphine addiction. He experimented with various drugs for pain and harmful substances. At the end of the day, after the development of an earlier beverage that incorporated cocaine and alcohol which resulted in the recipe that was later modified to create Coca-Cola.
