 Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), also known by his ring name, the Rock,[3] is an American actor and former professional wrestler. The Rock is widely considered to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Johnson played a major role in the growth and success of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, which is now WWE) in the Attitude Era, an industry boom during the latter half of the 1990s and early 2000s. Johnson was a wrestler with the WWF for eight years before pursuing an acting career. Johnson's films have grossed more than $3.5 billion in North America, and $10.5 billion worldwide. The actor is among the highest-paid and most famous actors around the globe.
