Grade began her career in music as an untrained 15-year-old performing in the Broadway musical "13." Her character of Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013) as well as Sam & Cat (2013) was her first big hit. After watching YouTube videos of Grande performing songs, Republic Records signed Grande in the year 2011. The 1950s-doo-wop-influenced R&B and debut pop album"[2] Yours Truly (2013) was a hit and landed in the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100. Grande's voice and her whistle-like sound attracted comparisons to Mariah Carey right away. My Everything tried EDM, and became a huge hit with hits like "Problem", Break Free and "Bang Bang". Dangerous Woman was the first of her four consecutive top-of-the-line albums in the UK. The personal issues she faced influenced the trap-infused fourth (2018) and fifth (2019) studio albums, Sweetener (2018), which were both critical and commercial success. Sweetener was awarded the Grammy Award as Best Pop Vocal Album. Thank U Next broke the record for the biggest streaming week of pop albums, and was nominated for the Album of the Year. Grande was the first solo artist to make it to the top three positions on the Hot 100 and become the first female to reach the number one position in the UK Singles Chart with the singles "Thank U. Next", "7 Rings" and "Break up with Your Girlfriend. Grande beat the Hot 100 record for the highest number-one debuts by debuting Justin Bieber's collaboration for 2020 "Stuck with U" with Lady Gaga. The latter was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance. Grande's sixth studio album, Positions (2020), focused her attention on trap music. The album as well as the title track hit the top spot in the UK. Grande worked with The Weeknd to make the remix to "Save Your Tears" in 2021. It was her sixth top-ten US single.
