Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair

 Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair `bd l`zyz lGryr (born 1 July 1954) is an Emirati billionaire businessman. He is director of Mashreq and also a director for the Abdullah Al Ghurair Group of Companies, one of the biggest business conglomerates in the Middle East, with operations spanning more than 20 countries and a history of business that spans more than a century. Forbes estimates that Al Ghurair's net worth is US$4.8 billion. This makes him the most wealthy person in the world. Al Ghurair was educated as an industrial engineer. He received an honours degree from California Polytechnic State University. He joined Mashreq in 1977. He worked in various capacities up to 1988 when he was appointed responsible for the international operations of banks. This included the establishment of branches in New York-US, London, UK, Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt. In 1989, he received the title of Executive Director. He was elevated to CEO in the same year.
