 Shakira Mebarak Ripoll (/S@'kI@r@Sh@-KEER@ Spanish: [(t)Sa'kira]; born 2 February 1977) is a Colombian singer from Colombia. She was born and was raised in Barranquilla and has been called the "Queen Of Latin Music"[5[5]. Her musical versatility is popular. [6] She made her debut on the recording scene with Sony Music Colombia at the age of 13. Following the dismal failure of her two previous albums Magia (1991), as well as Peligro (1993) Her recording debut was with Sony Music Colombia at age 13. (1998). The fifth album she released, Laundry Service (2001), was her entry into the market of English-language songs. It was a huge success, selling more than 13 million copies all over the globe. Buoyed by the international chart-topping success of her hit singles "Whenever, Wherever" and "Underneath Your Clothes", Laundry Service helped establish her status as a top artist who can be a crossover. Broadcast Music, Inc., described Shakira as a "pioneer" who expanded the audience of Latino singers.Her success was solidified with the Spanish album Fijacion Oral, Vol. El Dorado (2017), Sale el Sol (2010) and 1 (2005) all topped the Billboard Top Latin Albums charts and were certified diamonds (Latin by the Recording Industry Association of America. Her English albums Oral Fixation Vol. 2 (2005), She Wolf (2009) and Shakira (2014) were all certified as platinum, gold, or multi-platinum in various nations around the world. Certain of her songs have been charted as top songs in multiple countries, including "La Tortura", "Hips Don't Lie", "Beautiful Liar", "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)", "Loca", and "Chantaje". She was an instructor for two seasons of The Voice, the American singing competition TV show The Voice (2013-2014).
