 Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@nborn on 28 November 1987. She is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. Her work in British television and film earned her recognition, especially for her role as Amy Pond, the primary companion to Doctor Who's Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who (2010-2013), which was nominated for and won numerous awards. Her film debuts include Ally in the film thriller Outcast (2010) as well as Jane Lockhart in the romantic comedy film Not Another Happy Ending (2013). While in Britain, she also performed on stage, first playing in John Osborne's production of the play Inadmissible Evidence (2011), then making her Broadway debut in Time to Act (2013). She was the first American actress to be a star in Oculus (2013) the film that was her first major commercial success.
