Karen Gillan

 Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@nborn on 28 November 1987. She is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. Her work in British television and film earned her recognition, especially for her role as Amy Pond, the primary companion to Doctor Who's Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who (2010-2013), which was nominated for and won numerous awards. Her film debuts include Ally in the film thriller Outcast (2010) as well as Jane Lockhart in the romantic comedy film Not Another Happy Ending (2013). While in Britain, she also performed on stage, first playing in John Osborne's production of the play Inadmissible Evidence (2011), then making her Broadway debut in Time to Act (2013). She was the first American actress to be a star in Oculus (2013) the film that was her first major commercial success. Then, she played the lead character in Selfie (2014). She became famous internationally for playing Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) Her role will reprise in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). She additionally was praised for her performance as Ruby Roundhouse in the action films Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), Sam in the comedy film Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) and her role as a double in the Sci-Fi thriller film Dual (2022).Gillan's achievements include an Empire Award, a National Television Award as well as a Teen Choice Award and nominations for an British Academy Scotland Film Award, a Critics' Choice Award and a Saturn Award. She was also a scriptwriter and director of The Party's Only Beginning (2018) in which she was the main character. Her name has been praised for her public image and activism, particularly in the field of suicide prevention.
