Fran Drescher

 Francine Joy Drescher (born September 30th 1957) is an American actress, comedian as well as a writer, activist and trade unionist. Her role as Fran Fine in The Nanny (1993-1999) is her most well-known character. She was also in American Hot Wax (1978), and Wes Craven’s horror movie Stranger in Our House (1978). In the 1980s, she achieved fame as a comedic actor in films such as Gorp (1980), The Hollywood Knights (1980), Doctor Detroit (1983), This Is Spinal Tap (1984) as well as UHF (1989) as well as making a name for herself on television with guest appearances on several series. In 1993, she achieved more fame and recognition as Fran Fine in her own sitcom, The Nanny, for which she was nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Television Series during the show's run. Drescher was a star in sitcoms Living with Fran, and Happily Divorced. She has also been a major character in the animated Hotel Transylvania films since 2012. On February 4, 2014 Drescher was cast as Madame Drescher's stepmother on Cinderella. She starred as Madame in the NBC sitcom Indebted in 2020.
