The symbol for the cent is a symbol for the cent. It can be written in various ways, based on the font used and the national convention. The most commonly used forms are the minuscule letters that is crossed by a diagonal stroke , horizontal lines or simple c, based upon the type of currency (see below). Cent amounts ranging from 1 to 99 can be represented by one or two numbers followed by the abbreviation appropriate to the situation (2C5c to 7c or 75C/ 99c) or in subdivisions ($0.75, EUR0.99). In certain countries, additional abbreviations like "ct" are utilized. Languages that use different alphabets use their own conventions and abbreviations. Since the middle of the 20th century, the use of the symbol of the cent is nearly absent. Inflation has meant that very few items are priced in cents. While it was widely employed on US typewriter keyboards as well as computers, it has been removed from the market. [
